ABCB1 (also known as P-glycoprotein or MDR1) is an ATP-dependent efflux transporter expressed at the plasma membrane and best characterized for pumping chemotherapeutic agents and xenobiotics out of cells. Antibodies.com supplies this rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent raised against the ABCB1 target, validated for western blot and immunofluorescence workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples.

The unconjugated format gives laboratories flexibility to pair the antibody with HRP, fluorophore, or biotin secondary reagents depending on the chosen detection platform, and the 100 µl volume supplied in one vial supports numerous blotting and imaging experiments. The reagent recognizes the ~170 kDa full-length ABCB1 band and is routinely applied to drug-resistant cell line lysates, brain microvascular endothelium, hepatic and intestinal epithelium, and tumor sections in studies of multidrug resistance, blood-brain barrier transport, and drug pharmacokinetics.

Because the host species is rabbit, this antibody can be combined with mouse monoclonals for two-color immunofluorescence co-localization work. Refrigerate on receipt and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding affinity and minimize aggregation.
