Produced in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent, this unconjugated primary antibody targets the ABCA1 transporter, a membrane-bound ATP-binding cassette protein central to cellular cholesterol efflux and nascent HDL particle formation. Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, it recognizes the target in human, mouse, and rat tissue samples. The Antibodies.com reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, packaged as a 100 µl vial for use across multiple immunoblots and staining experiments. ABCA1 is widely studied in lipid metabolism research, with particular relevance to atherosclerosis, macrophage lipid handling, and inherited disorders such as Tangier disease, in which loss-of-function mutations impair cellular cholesterol transport to apolipoprotein A-I.
