The AAAS protein (Aladin WD Repeat Nucleoporin) is an integral component of the nuclear pore complex, and loss-of-function mutations in the underlying gene are causally linked to Triple A syndrome (Allgrove syndrome), a multisystem disorder affecting the adrenal gland, autonomic nervous system, and esophagus. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against AAAS and is validated for Western blot detection across samples of human, rat, and mouse origin. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock prepared in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.3, which allows direct dilution into standard reducing SDS-PAGE sample buffer for downstream immunoblotting on PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes.

Investigators working on nucleocytoplasmic transport, nuclear envelope architecture, or the molecular basis of Triple A syndrome can use this reagent to probe endogenous AAAS expression in whole-cell and tissue lysates, compare protein levels between patient-derived and control samples, and confirm expression of recombinant constructs. Store the vial at 2 to 8 degrees C short term, and aliquot before freezing at -20 degrees C for longer-term storage; the sodium azide preservative protects against microbial contamination across repeated pipetting cycles. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles to preserve polyclonal antibody integrity.
