Description

This polyclonal antibody, supplied by Antibodies.com, is raised in rabbit and targets α-Synuclein phosphorylated at tyrosine 136. It is unconjugated and validated for Western blotting (WB) and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF), reacting with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples.

The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the sequence around the tyrosine 136 phosphorylation site (Q-D-Y(p)-E-P) of Human α-Synuclein. Specificity is restricted to endogenous α-Synuclein only when phosphorylated at tyrosine 136. Non-phospho-specific antibodies are removed by chromatographic purification against the non-phosphopeptide, following immunisation of rabbits with the synthetic phosphopeptide conjugated to KLH. Affinity chromatography against the epitope-specific phosphopeptide is used to purify the antibody.

The antibody is provided at 1.0 mg/mL in phosphate-buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol. It is shipped at 4°C; upon delivery it should be aliquoted and stored at -20°C, with freeze/thaw cycles avoided.
