This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com selectively recognizes the phosphorylated form of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1 (4E-BP1) at threonine 36 (phospho-T36), an early priming site phosphorylated by mTORC1. Phosphorylation of 4E-BP1 releases it from eIF4E, lifting repression of cap-dependent translation and making phospho-T36 a widely used readout of mTOR pathway activity in studies of cell growth, proliferation, autophagy, and metabolic regulation.

Validated for Western blot, the reagent cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples and is supplied as 100 µL of polyclonal antiserum at 1 mg/mL in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabilizing cryoprotectant. Aliquot upon receipt and store at -20 °C to preserve phospho-specific binding; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-labeled secondary antibodies and supports chemiluminescent or fluorescence detection platforms across standard SDS-PAGE Western blot workflows. Researchers studying mTORC1 signaling, translation control, insulin and amino acid responses, and disease models involving dysregulated cap-dependent translation can use this reagent to monitor dynamic changes in 4E-BP1 phosphorylation status at T36 relative to total 4E-BP1 levels.
