4E-BP1 (eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E-binding protein 1) functions as a key translational repressor within the mTOR signaling cascade, where it binds eIF4E and suppresses cap-dependent protein synthesis until phosphorylated at regulatory residues such as Thr37, Thr46, Ser65, and Thr70. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against an epitope mapping to the Ab-69 region of 4E-BP1, enabling detection of endogenous protein across mouse and rat tissue samples. The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µl of antiserum and is validated for western blot analysis of phosphorylated and total 4E-BP1 in cell lysates, as well as immunohistochemistry workflows where chromogenic or fluorescent secondary reagents can be layered on for signal development. As a research-use-only primary antibody, it supports investigations of growth factor signaling, nutrient sensing, autophagy regulation, and translational control in neurobiology and cancer research, where altered 4E-BP1 phosphorylation serves as a widely used readout of mTORC1 activity.
