RPS13 is a highly conserved component of the small 40S ribosomal subunit, contributing to ribosome biogenesis and cytoplasmic translation in eukaryotic cells. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against human 40S ribosomal protein S13 and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, making it useful for studies of ribosomal composition, translational control, and the altered ribosome biogenesis reported in several cancer models.

The antibody is supplied as a 100 ug aliquot of polyclonal IgG from rabbit host serum, unconjugated for flexible pairing with HRP, fluorescent, or biotin secondary reporters. On Western blot, the expected band resolves near the ~17 kDa molecular weight of RPS13; on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, cytoplasmic staining of actively translating cells is observed. Reactivity has been confirmed against human antigen, and the polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage for detecting the full-length endogenous protein in cell lysates, tissue extracts, and cultured lines.

Recommended applications include immunoblotting of total protein extracts to monitor ribosomal subunit abundance and immunohistochemical localization of RPS13 in tissue sections. Aliquot upon receipt, store refrigerated to preserve activity across repeated uses, and protect from light; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Research use only.
