HACL1 is a peroxisomal enzyme central to the alpha-oxidation pathway of 3-methyl-branched fatty acids such as phytanic acid, catalyzing the carbon-carbon cleavage of 2-hydroxyphytanoyl-CoA to pristanal and formyl-CoA. Variants in the HACL1 gene have been linked to Refsum disease and certain adult-onset leukoencephalopathies, making the protein a relevant target in studies of peroxisomal lipid metabolism and disorders of branched-chain fatty acid catabolism.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human and mouse samples. The antibody is supplied as a 100 µL liquid aliquot, ready for dilution into standard blocking buffers. Polyclonal reactivity across multiple epitopes supports detection of endogenous HACL1 in tissue sections and whole-cell lysates, and the unconjugated format leaves reporter or enzyme selection to the end user.

Store the vial refrigerated at 4 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the stock reagent. For research use only; not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
