Allprep FFPE DNA/ RNA Kit (50)

From QIAGEN, this kit enables simultaneous purification of genomic DNA and total RNA, including small RNAs, from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections. The procedure uses differential solubilization to release DNA and RNA sequentially from the same sample, avoiding the need for overnight proteinase K incubation. After solubilization, formaldehyde cross-links are removed from both nucleic acids prior to purification.

The kit supports manual workflows and can be fully automated on QIAcube Connect or the classic QIAcube, following the same lyse, bind, wash, and elute steps. Because fixation and embedding modify FFPE nucleic acids, isolated DNA and RNA are typically more fragmented than those obtained from fresh or frozen tissue, so downstream applications should accommodate lower-molecular-weight material. The product is intended for molecular biology applications only and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease.

Several buffers contain guanidine salts that are not compatible with bleach-based disinfectants. Upon arrival, RNase-Free DNase I, Buffer RDD, RNeasy MinElute spin columns, and QIAamp MinElute spin columns should be stored at 2–8°C, while the remaining buffers can be kept at room temperature (15–25°C); under these conditions kit components remain stable for at least nine months. Each lot is quality tested under QIAGEN's ISO-certified Quality Management System.
