6x DNA Loading Dye Buffer Orange

A 6× concentrated loading dye buffer from Solis BioDyne designed for preparing DNA samples prior to gel electrophoresis. The reagent is suitable for loading PCR products and restriction fragments onto agarose or polyacrylamide gels. In a 1% agarose gel, the Orange G dye comigrates with approximately 40 bp fragments when using 1× TBE buffer, or approximately 60 bp fragments when using 1× TAE buffer.

The formulation contains Orange G, TRIS-HCl, EDTA and Ficoll. According to the manufacturer, no interaction with borate is observed on TBE gels, and the Ficoll component prevents alteration of local pH. For routine use, 1 volume of the Orange Dye is mixed with 5 volumes of the DNA sample before loading into the gel.

The product is supplied as a colorless solution with a pH of 7.0–7.5. Shipping at room temperature has no detrimental effect on reagent quality, and storage at room temperature or 4 °C is recommended, with -18 °C to -28 °C advised for longer-term storage. The reagent is labelled for in vitro research use only and is not intended for use in diagnostic procedures. It is not classified as hazardous for transport and is not subject to identification regulations under EU guidelines.
