6x DNA Loading Dye Buffer Double Blue

Solis BioDyne's 6x DNA Loading Dye Buffer Double Blue is a loading reagent designed for preparing DNA samples—including PCR products and restriction fragments—for separation on agarose or polyacrylamide gels. The buffer is composed of bromophenol blue, xylene cyanol FF, TRIS-HCl, EDTA, and Ficoll, with the Ficoll preventing interaction with borate in TBE gels and avoiding alterations to local pH. In a 1% agarose gel, bromophenol blue comigrates with approximately 300 bp fragments in 1x TBE or approximately 400 bp fragments in 1x TAE, while xylene cyanol FF comigrates with approximately 3500 bp fragments in 1x TBE or approximately 5000 bp fragments in 1x TAE. The manufacturer recommends mixing 1 volume of the Double Blue Dye with 5 volumes of DNA sample prior to loading.

The product is supplied as a colorless solution with a pH of 7.0–7.5 that is easily soluble in water and is intended for in vitro use only. It can be stored at room temperature or at 4°C, and for longer periods at -20°C. Users are advised to handle it with suitable protective clothing such as laboratory overalls, gloves, and safety glasses.
