Description
A reagent supplied by QIAGEN as a component of the RNeasy PowerMicrobiome Kit, formerly sold by MO BIO as the PowerMicrobiome RNA Isolation Kit. In the isolation procedure, 650 µl of Solution PM4 is added to the cleared sample lysate together with 650 µl of Solution PM3, vortexed briefly to mix, and then loaded onto a silica spin filter where total nucleic acids are captured. When isolating small RNA species such as microRNA and siRNA, 650 µl of 70% ethanol may be substituted for Solution PM4, with an additional 650 µl of 100% ethanol added. The reagent contains alcohol and is flammable, and should be kept away from open flames and sparks.
