QIAGEN Nuclease-Free Water is a molecular biology-grade reagent supplied in a 1000 ml bottle, manufactured to eliminate DNase, RNase, and protease activity so that downstream enzymatic reactions remain uncompromised. Each lot is filtered and quality tested to confirm the absence of detectable endo- and exonucleases, making it appropriate for sensitive workflows such as PCR primer and probe dilution, RT-PCR master mix preparation, cDNA synthesis, restriction digestion, ligation, in vitro transcription, and next-generation sequencing library construction.

The water is intended as a blank and diluent for nucleic acid samples, including resuspension of precipitated RNA or DNA pellets after ethanol precipitation, reconstitution of lyophilized oligos, and zero-sample blanks for spectrophotometric quantification on microvolume instruments. Because it is certified free of contaminating nucleic acids and nucleases, it supports reproducible results in genotyping assays, pathogen detection panels, and viral RNA workflows where even trace nuclease contamination can degrade template and skew quantification cycles.

For routine handling, the bottle should be kept tightly sealed when not in use to prevent airborne introduction of nucleases, and aliquoting into smaller single-use tubes is recommended in busy bench environments. Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, and protect from light exposure to preserve certificate-of-analysis performance. The 1000 ml format is sized for high-throughput genomics cores and shared laboratory benches that consume several liters per month across PCR setup, cloning, and sequencing template preparation.
