This density-gradient centrifugation tube from STEMCELL Technologies is designed for isolating peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) or specific cell types from blood or bone marrow samples. An internal insert separates the density gradient medium from the sample, eliminating the need to carefully layer blood on top of the gradient. After centrifugation, mononuclear cells can be collected by simply pouring off the supernatant, supporting a rapid workflow.

The tube is compatible with RosetteSep cell-enrichment reagents; when used in combination, targeted cell populations can be isolated in under 30 minutes. The product is manufactured under cGMP and is intended for research use only; it is not approved for human or animal medical, clinical diagnostic, or food applications. The format supports processing of sample volumes between 4 and 17 mL. According to the manufacturer's comparison data, mononuclear cell recovery from fresh blood and from blood processed 48 hours after draw is comparable whether or not the tube is used in the workflow.
