PBS-MINI 0.5MAG Vessel, 4 Units

This single-use vessel from STEMCELL Technologies is part of the PBS-MINI bioreactor system, a compact platform designed for high-throughput 3D suspension culture of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) and other cell types. The vessel holds a 500 mL culture volume and is used with the PBS-MINI Bioreactor Base Unit. For culture volumes of 300 mL to 500 mL, an agitation rate of 40 – 45 rpm is recommended, and a 500 mL culture volume is typically agitated at 45 RPM. In hPSC applications, cells can be seeded at a density of 3 – 8 x 10^4 viable cells/mL and cultured for 4 days using mTeSR™3D. The vessel supports consistently high daily fold expansion (with a mean above 1.2) and high end-of-passage cell viability, while maintaining high OCT-4 and TRA-1-60 expression after 9 passages. hPSC aggregates exhibit typical suspension-culture morphology, including a mostly spherical shape, clear edges, an even color, and a dimpled appearance, with aggregates typically 350-400 µm in size. The vessel fits into a scale-up workflow spanning 2 mL to 500 mL, with all vessels placed in an incubator at 37°C with 5% CO2. It is also compatible with cardiomyocyte differentiation protocols, where 250 mL of STEMdiff™ Cardiomyocyte Dissociation Medium plus DNase I Solution is used per 150 mL of culture during harvest. Single-use vessels are available with and without a bottom port.
