Description
From QIAGEN, this stabilization reagent is designed for the storage and preservation of tissue specimens previously fixed using the PAXgene Tissue FIX Container (50 mL). As part of the broader PAXgene Tissue System developed by PreAnalytiX, it preserves tissue morphology and the integrity of nucleic acids without the destructive crosslinking and degradation typically associated with formalin fixation.
Once tissue samples have been fixed, the fixative is removed and replaced by PAXgene Tissue STABILIZER within the same container. Nucleic acids, proteins, and morphology remain stable for up to 7 days at room temperature (15–25°C) or up to 4 weeks at 2–8°C. For long-term archiving, samples may be stored at –20°C (–15°C to –30°C) or –80°C (–65°C to –90°C) without negative effects on tissue morphology or nucleic acid integrity. Storage at 2–8°C beyond 4 weeks must be validated for each tissue type, and long-term storage studies are ongoing.
To prepare the working solution, 350 ml ethanol is added to each 150 ml bottle of concentrate and mixed by inverting at least 10 times. The concentrate can be stored at room temperature (15–25°C) until the expiration date printed on the box label. The product is for Research Use Only and is not intended for use in diagnostic procedures.
