Attractene Transfection Reagent (1 ml)

This cationic lipid-based transfection reagent from QIAGEN is designed for highly efficient DNA transfection of eukaryotic cells and for DNA–siRNA or DNA–miRNA cotransfection. The nonliposomal lipid formulation delivers higher transfection efficiency than alternative reagents under a range of experimental conditions when following recommended handbook protocols, and its exceptionally low cytotoxicity helps ensure that results reflect the nucleic acid delivered rather than reagent-induced stress.

Key features include a rapid Fast-Forward Protocol in which cells are seeded and transfected on the same day, saving time and labour compared with overnight seeding workflows, transfection performed in the presence of serum, and a formulation free of animal-derived components. Under recommended handbook conditions, the reagent supports up to 660 transfections in 24-well plates.

Attractene Transfection Reagent works across a broad range of cell types, including difficult-to-transfect adherent lines such as HaCaT, MonoMac6, and HCT116, as well as suspension lines including Jurkat and K562. Applications include transient transfection, stable transfection, plasmid co-transfection, and shRNA vector transfection for gene-silencing experiments. Complex preparation and storage are supported for use with automated high- or low-throughput platforms.
