AllStars Neg. siRNA AF 647 (20 nmol)

Designed for negative control RNAi experiments, this control siRNA from QIAGEN carries an AF 647 modification and is supplied in tube format for human, mouse, and rat species. The negative control is predesigned and validated by Affymetrix GeneChip Array and cell-based assays.

In validation experiments, the reagent produced minimal nonspecific regulation of gene expression after transfection. Cellular phenotypes remained comparable to those of untransfected cells, with normal nuclear size, unchanged proliferation rates, unchanged DNA synthesis rates, and no increase in cytotoxicity. Cell-cycle distribution was also normal.

RISC-incorporation analysis in HeLa and MCF-7 cells confirmed that the control enters RISC, satisfying a requirement for a valid negative control and enabling accurate comparison with gene-specific siRNA knockdown data. Used alongside untransfected and gene-specific siRNA samples, the product helps distinguish sequence-specific silencing effects from nonspecific responses caused by transfection procedures or siRNA handling.
