Engineered by QIAGEN as a pre-validated positive-control duplex, the AllStars Cell Death Control siRNA reliably triggers apoptotic cell death when transfected into cultured mammalian cells. Supplied as a 20 nmol lyophilized aliquot, the reagent serves as a transfection-efficiency benchmark in RNA interference (RNAi) workflows, allowing scientists to confirm delivery chemistry and silencing machinery before committing precious experimental samples.

Because the duplex is validated to reduce viability across standard human and rodent lines, it is routinely paired with the AllStars Negative Control siRNA to distinguish sequence-specific silencing phenotypes from background cytotoxicity. This pairing is particularly important in apoptosis studies, caspase activation assays, and high-content viability screens where false negatives from failed transfection must be ruled out.

Recommended for in vitro research use only, the 20 nmol format provides enough duplex for hundreds of transfections depending on plate format and final oligonucleotide concentration. Reconstitute in nuclease-free buffer, aliquot the working stock to minimize freeze-thaw cycles, and store the reconstituted material at -20 degrees C or below to preserve silencing activity across extended experimental campaigns.
