The TpN17 recombinant antigen from Antibodies.com is a purified immunodominant membrane lipoprotein of Treponema pallidum, the spirochete bacterium that causes syphilis. Expressed recombinantly and supplied at >98% purity, this antigen is widely incorporated into treponemal serological assays where it serves as a sensitive target for detecting anti-T. pallidum antibodies in patient specimens.

Provided as 1 mg of purified recombinant antigen in a single vial, the reagent is suitable for ELISA and Western blot workflows used in clinical microbiology, blood-bank screening, and infectious-disease research. TpN17 is one of the most consistently recognized treponemal antigens across infection stages, and pairing it with antigens such as TpN47 or TmpA helps distinguish active infection from past exposure in confirmatory testing algorithms.

The protein is appropriate for use as an immobilized coating antigen, as a positive-control band in immunoblot strips, and as a reference standard during assay development. Store reconstituted aliquots refrigerated and protect from light; for research use only, not intended for diagnostic procedures without further validation.
