Solution CD2 (60 ml)

This 60 ml reagent from QIAGEN is Solution CD2, a component supplied with the DNeasy PowerSoil Pro Kit for isolating microbial genomic DNA from environmental samples. Solution CD2 should be stored at 2–8°C upon arrival, while the kit's other components are stored at room temperature (15–25°C) until the expiration date printed on the box label. The product is intended for molecular biology applications and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.

Used in workflows that combine mechanical and chemical lysis with QIAGEN's second-generation Inhibitor Removal Technology (IRT), the kit captures total genomic DNA on a silica membrane in a spin column format. It is intended for soil types containing high humic acid content, including difficult samples such as compost, sediment, and manure, as well as more common soil and stool types. Purified DNA is suitable for downstream applications including PCR, qPCR, and next-generation sequencing (16S and whole genome).
