Genomic DNA Buffer Set

The Genomic DNA Buffer Set from QIAGEN supplies the pre-made buffers used with QIAGEN Genomic-tips for genomic DNA purification by gravity-flow, anion-exchange technology. According to QIAGEN, the set is required for yeast and bacteria samples processed through the QIAGEN Genomic-tip procedure.

The buffer set contains Buffer C1 (250 ml) and Buffer Y1 (160 ml), which should always be stored at 2–8 °C, as well as Buffer B1 (120 ml), Buffer B2 (50 ml), Buffer G2 (260 ml), Buffer QBT (110 ml), Buffer QC (410 ml), and Buffer QF (170 ml). Buffer G2 functions as a general lysis buffer used in combination with QIAGEN Protease or Proteinase K, while Buffers B1 and B2 are used with lysozyme or lysostaphin and Proteinase K for efficient lysis of bacteria prior to DNA purification on QIAGEN Genomic-tips. Buffers B2 and G2 contain guanidine hydrochloride and are not compatible with disinfection reagents containing bleach.

Offering ready-to-use solutions, the product provides the buffers detailed in Appendix A of the QIAGEN Genomic DNA Handbook, removing the need to prepare them in-house.
