A wash/buffer solution from QIAGEN supplied as a component of the PowerSoil® DNA Isolation Kit. Per the kit documentation, this solution is required to bind DNA to the spin filter, contributing to the removal of residual contaminants and preparing samples for elution during nucleic acid purification.

The PowerSoil® DNA Isolation Kit isolates genomic DNA from environmental samples — including difficult soil types such as compost, sediment, and manure — using Inhibitor Removal Technology®. Samples are processed by bead-beating homogenization and chemical lysis, and total genomic DNA is captured on a silica spin filter membrane, then washed and eluted for downstream applications such as PCR amplification.
