This QIAGEN antibody delivers selective recognition of the RGS·His fusion tag in a BSA-free format, supplied as 100 µg of purified immunoglobulin. The reagent detects the Arg-Gly-Ser-(His)6 epitope appended to recombinant proteins expressed with the QIAexpress system, supporting verification of N-terminal, C-terminal, or internal tag placement in bacterial, insect, and mammalian lysates. Absence of bovine serum albumin in the buffer reduces background in immunoblotting and plate-based detection workflows while leaving the antibody available for downstream conjugation chemistries such as HRP, biotin, or fluorophore coupling, where carrier proteins would compete for reactive groups.
Recommended working concentrations range from 0.5 to 2 µg/mL for Western blot applications, with exact dilution depending on antigen abundance and detection chemistry. The reagent is also used to monitor purification yields across Ni-NTA chromatography steps and as a capture antibody in plate-based detection assays. Specific binding to the RGS motif minimizes cross-reactivity with His-tagged constructs that lack the Arg-Gly-Ser leader sequence.
Aliquot upon receipt and freeze at -20°C for long-term storage; repeated freeze-thaw cycles degrade immunoglobulin activity. The vial is intended for laboratory research use only.
