The Antibodies.com Recombinant HIV-1 Gag p55 Protein is a full-length, 55 kDa precursor polyprotein expressed as a recombinant antigen for HIV-1 research and diagnostic development. The Gag precursor is cleaved by the viral protease into the structural proteins matrix (p17), capsid (p24), and nucleocapsid (p7), making the intact p55 a useful reagent for studying viral assembly, budding, and immune recognition of conserved Gag epitopes.

Supplied as a 20µg liquid formulation, this recombinant protein is validated for SDS-PAGE, Western blot (WB), dot blot (DB), and ELISA applications. It serves as a positive control in WB-based confirmatory assays, as a coating antigen in ELISA-based antibody detection methods, and as a standard in quantitative studies of Gag expression. Researchers working on HIV-1 vaccine design, seroprevalence studies, and Gag-specific T-cell immunology frequently use full-length p55 to evaluate immune responses.

For handling, store the protein at -20°C to preserve activity and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting on first use. The product is intended for research use only and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications in humans.
