Description

QIAGEN's QIAxcel RNA High-Sensitivity Kit provides reagents and markers for automated quantitative and qualitative RNA analysis by capillary gel electrophoresis on QIAxcel instruments. The kit supports QC of total RNA, small RNA, and cRNA (fragmented or intact), and is used in workflows such as gene expression analysis and sequencing sample preparation. Automated sample loading and analysis help minimize manual handling, reducing the risk of RNA degradation and contamination. The system offers higher detection sensitivity and improved fragment resolution compared with traditional agarose gel electrophoresis, with less sample loss, and can process up to 96 samples per run. When used together with QIAxcel ScreenGel software, the kit generates a QIAGEN RNA Integrity Score (RIS) for objective quality measurement of eukaryotic RNA samples. The kit is intended for use only with the QIAxcel Connect instrument and is for molecular biology applications; it is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease.

The QIAxcel RNA High-Sensitivity Cartridge is reusable for multiple runs (up to 100 runs per cartridge). Nucleic acids are separated according to size in gel-filled capillaries using a native polymer gel. The system can detect as little as 50 pg/µl of diluted total RNA and 50 ng/µl of cRNA or single-stranded cDNA. Kit components include the High-Sensitivity Cartridge with smart key, QX HS Separation Buffer, QX HS Wash Buffer, QX RNA HS Dilution Buffer, QX RNA Booster Buffer, QX RNA Denaturation Buffer, QX Mineral Oil, QX HS Intensity Calibration Marker, QX RNA HS Alignment Marker, QX RNA Size Marker (200–6000 nt), and QX 0.2 ml 12-Tube Strips (including colored strips). The cartridge and Denaturation Buffer are stored at 2–8°C, the markers at –30°C to –15°C, and remaining components at room temperature (15–25°C).
