QIAGEN offers intuitive software designed for DNA and RNA analysis with the QIAxcel Advanced system. The package supports separation and analysis of a range of nucleic acids, including single or multiple PCR fragments, DNA digested with restriction endonucleases, synthesized oligonucleotides, total RNA, and cRNA. Interactive tools simplify analysis, with results displayed in both electropherogram and gel image formats, and overlay views enable sample and data comparison. The software provides full compatibility with BioCalculator Software files.

A guided Process Wizard simplifies experiment setup, allowing users to define run parameters, preselect DNA size markers, include reagent lot number information, and select samples with a single click. The QIAGEN RNA Integrity Score (RIS) provides an objective quality measurement for eukaryotic RNA samples; the RIS is a value from 1 to 10 where a value of 10 indicates completely intact RNA, eliminating the need for human interpretation. Complete process profiles standardize sample processing from run through data export, reducing user training requirements. A unique algorithm calculates peak properties including number, size, height, width, and area. Configurable reports can be generated, saved, or exported. Data are available in .csv and .xml formats, with integrated XSLT enabling transformation to XML, HTML, PDF, PostScript, or PNG files.

Security and compliance features include password-protected login, audit trail documentation, automatic archiving of write-protected raw data, and support for the technical requirements of 21 CFR Part 11. Different user profiles — Routine, Basic, Advanced, and Admin — are available with password protection to prevent unauthorized access.
