Supplied through Antibodies.com as a ready-to-use immunoreagent, the Propoxyphene (PPX)-BSA Antigen is a synthetic small-molecule hapten covalently conjugated to bovine serum albumin (BSA) and presented as a clear liquid in a 1 mg pack size. The product is formulated in distilled water buffer with 0.01% sodium azide as preservative, and the hapten is coupled to the carrier protein at a high substitution ratio (typically in the 20:1 to 40:1 range) to maximise epitope density on the solid phase. It is intended primarily for Lateral Flow (LF) assay development, and is also suitable for use as a coating or reference reagent in ELISA and other immunoassay (IA) workflows designed to detect the opioid analgesic propoxyphene (also known as dextropropoxyphene, D-Propoxyphene, or PPX). When paired with a matched anti-propoxyphene antibody, the conjugate functions as a capture antigen in drug-of-abuse testing panels targeting this analyte. For short-term storage the reagent should be kept at +2 °C to +8 °C, while long-term storage is recommended at -20 °C; freeze/thaw cycles should be avoided to preserve activity. The material is shipped refrigerated on cold packs or dry ice, depending on destination, and is classified for Research Use Only — it is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use in humans or animals.
