MagAttract Magnetic Rack

Serving as a magnetic base, the MagAttract Magnetic Rack from QIAGEN supports magnetic-bead-based separation workflows used in DNA isolation procedures. During sample processing, a tube holder containing the sample tubes is placed onto the magnetic rack so that magnetic beads collect at the tube walls, allowing the supernatant to be removed. According to the QIAGEN protocol, bead separation on the magnetic base takes approximately 1 minute. Because the bead pellet is not easily visible, care must be taken not to disturb it while aspirating. Between separation steps, the tube holder is removed from the magnetic base and placed on a mixer for incubation at 1400 rpm. The rack is listed within QIAGEN's NGS consumables portfolio, where it is paired with the MagAttract HMW DNA Kit for DNA-seq sample preparation.
