Investigator STR GO! Lysis Buffer (200)

A lysis buffer from QIAGEN developed for use with the Investigator 24plex GO! Kit in forensic sample preparation workflows. The product is validated for forensic casework, paternity testing, and other human identity testing applications, based on recommendations from the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) and the Scientific Working Group on DNA Analysis Methods (SWGDAM). The buffer is supplied separately and must be ordered independently from the kit when needed.

The buffer is applied in different volumes depending on the sample format. For buccal swabs, 500 µL is added to the sample in a 2 mL microcentrifuge tube, followed by incubation at 95 °C for 5 minutes shaking at 1200 rpm in a thermomixer. For buccal cells collected on Bode Buccal DNA Collectors, 2 µL is dispensed directly onto a 1.2 mm punch, with the sample then incubated at 95 °C for 5 minutes. The lysate is subsequently used as the template for downstream PCR amplification within the 24plex GO! workflow.
