The active human Squamous Cell Carcinoma Antigen offered by Antibodies.com is a recombinant preparation of SERPINB3 (SCCA1), a ~45 kDa serine protease inhibitor originally isolated from cervical squamous carcinoma tissue. This unconjugated liquid protein is supplied at 100 µg per vial and serves as a quantitative standard for tumor marker studies, a positive control in western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, and a reference reagent in cell-based protease inhibition assays.

SCC antigen is widely used in cancer biology research on cervical, lung, head and neck, and esophageal squamous cell carcinomas to investigate tumor burden, treatment response, and disease recurrence. For best stability, aliquot the protein upon arrival and store at -80 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The preparation is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic procedures, and bioactivity is verified by the supplier prior to shipment.
