Human SCCA2 (Active)

The Antibodies.com Human SCCA2 (Active) recombinant protein is supplied as a 1 mg liquid preparation in an unconjugated format and serves as a functional standard for squamous cell carcinoma research. SCCA2, also designated SERPINB4, is an ov-serine protease inhibitor of roughly 45 kDa that is co-expressed with the related SCCA1 (SERPINB3) in stratified squamous epithelium. It is routinely evaluated as a serological biomarker in cervical, lung, and head-and-neck cancers, and is used to study cysteine protease inhibition in cell-based systems.

Common applications include western blot, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and protease inhibition assays. For best stability, aliquot upon receipt and store frozen at -80 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve inhibitor activity. The vial is shipped refrigerated and should be handled with standard laboratory personal protective equipment.
