Human Platelet-derived Growth Factor BB (Active)

The recombinant human PDGF-BB protein supplied by Antibodies.com is a biologically active homodimer of approximately 24.7 kDa, expressed in E. coli and purified to ≥95% by SDS-PAGE and reverse-phase HPLC. Endotoxin content is verified below 1.0 EU/µg via LAL testing. The product is delivered as a sterile lyophilized powder in a 10 µg vial; store at -20 °C upon receipt and protect from light and moisture.

For reconstitution, dissolve in sterile 10 mM acetic acid or in PBS containing 0.1% BSA to a working stock of 100 µg/mL, then aliquot to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Reconstituted material remains stable refrigerated for short-term use, or for several months at -20 to -80 °C. Bioactivity is confirmed using an NIH/3T3 fibroblast proliferation assay, with an ED50 typically falling between 1 and 10 ng/mL, indicating functional engagement of PDGFR-β signalling.

Applications include mesenchymal stem cell expansion, wound-healing models, angiogenesis research, smooth muscle cell mitogenesis, chemotaxis assays, and use as a calibrator in ELISA and western blot workflows.
