The Antibodies.com Human Interleukin 12 (Active) is a lyophilized recombinant cytokine supplied at 10 µg per vial, intended for research use only in immunology and cell biology workflows.
Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is a heterodimeric p70 cytokine composed of disulfide-linked p35 and p40 subunits, secreted naturally by activated dendritic cells, macrophages, and B lymphocytes. It promotes differentiation of naive CD4+ T cells toward a Th1 effector phenotype, drives interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) secretion by T cells and natural killer (NK) cells, and supports cytotoxic lymphocyte maturation, making it a foundational reagent for studies of cell-mediated immunity, infectious disease models, vaccine research, and tumor immunology.
This biologically functional, active preparation can be added directly to cell culture after reconstitution in sterile buffer. Aliquot reconstituted stock to limit freeze-thaw cycles, protect the vial from light, and store lyophilized material at -20 °C, or -80 °C for longer-term preservation.
