Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF, also called CSF2) is a 127-amino-acid glycoprotein of approximately 14.5 kDa that drives the proliferation, survival and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells into granulocyte and macrophage lineages. This preparation retains native receptor-binding activity and is widely used to stimulate dendritic cell maturation, support neutrophil and macrophage functional assays, and maintain myeloid-lineage cell culture workflows. Reconstitute the lyophilized material in sterile deionized water or an appropriate buffered solution, then dilute into culture media; aliquot single-use portions to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store the reconstituted stock at -20 °C or below, with the lyophilized vial held under refrigerated conditions for short-term use.
