Recombinant human Glypican 3 (GPC3) supplied as an unconjugated, biologically active liquid protein preparation from Antibodies.com. Glypican 3 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycan encoded on chromosome Xq26, with a core protein of approximately 66 kDa that bears HS glycosaminoglycan chains. In normal adult tissue GPC3 expression is silenced, but it is re-expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), yolk sac tumors, choriocarcinoma, and a subset of squamous lung carcinomas, making it a widely studied immunohistochemical marker for liver cancer research and diagnostics. This 100 µg preparation is intended for research use only in applications such as ELISA standard curves, western blot positive controls, flow cytometry binding studies, and cell-based functional assays investigating the Wnt, FGF, and Hedgehog signaling pathways that GPC3 modulates through its heparan sulfate side chains. Store the liquid aliquot at -80 °C in single-use vials, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve biological activity, and handle under sterile conditions for in vitro work.
