The Human Fatty Acid Binding 3 (FABP3) active protein offered by Antibodies.com is a biologically functional preparation of the 15 kDa intracellular lipid carrier, supplied as a 100 µg liquid in a single vial in an unconjugated state for direct use in binding and functional assays. FABP3, also called H-FABP or MDGI, is highly expressed in cardiac myocytes and skeletal muscle, where it shuttles long-chain fatty acids toward mitochondrial β-oxidation pathways. It is widely studied as an early serum biomarker released during myocardial injury, in metabolic and insulin-resistance research, and in neuromuscular disease models. Researchers commonly deploy this reagent in ELISA, western blot, immunohistochemistry, and fatty-acid uptake workflows, and as a positive control when probing cardiac or skeletal muscle lysates. For stability, the vial should be stored frozen in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw degradation and handled on ice prior to use. Intended for research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
