Human FABP3 (also designated H-FABP or MDGI) is a 15 kDa intracellular lipid chaperone that reversibly binds long-chain fatty acids and channels them toward β-oxidation, phospholipid biosynthesis, and nuclear transcription factor regulation. The protein is most abundant in cardiac myocytes and oxidative skeletal muscle fibers, where it supports rapid fatty acid flux during metabolic demand. Recombinant Active FABP3 from Antibodies.com is presented as a 100 µg liquid preparation in unconjugated format, ready for binding assays, fatty acid uptake studies, and use as an immunogen or assay calibrator. The reagent supports cardiac biomarker research, where circulating H-FABP rises within hours of acute myocardial infarction, as well as metabolic investigations into muscle lipid handling and adipocyte biology. Unconjugated material offers flexibility for custom biotinylation, fluorophore coupling, or direct plate coating. Store at −80 °C to preserve activity and limit freeze-thaw cycles by working from single-use aliquots; the vial is shipped on dry ice. For research use only.
