The Human C Reactive (Active) protein supplied by Antibodies.com is the natively folded pentameric pCRP molecule, purified from human source material and formulated to preserve its native calcium-dependent phosphocholine-binding activity. Each 23 kDa subunit assembles into the characteristic cyclic pentamer of roughly 115 kDa that engages phosphocholine residues exposed on damaged cell membranes and microbial surfaces.

This preparation retains functional engagement of C1q, supporting downstream activation of the classical complement pathway. It is used as a positive reference standard in acute-phase inflammation studies, cardiovascular biomarker research, sepsis model work, and ligand-binding assays that depend on authentic conformational epitopes rather than denatured antigen.
