Human beta-2 microglobulin (B2M) is an 11.8 kDa, 99-amino-acid polypeptide that pairs non-covalently with the heavy chain of MHC class I molecules on virtually all nucleated cells. This full-length recombinant preparation from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 100 µg liquid aliquot in a single vial, recommended for use as a quantitative standard in ELISA, a positive control for Western blot and SDS-PAGE, and as an antigen for anti-B2M antibody characterization. The unconjugated protein should be stored at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and is intended for research use only.
