EasySep Buffer

From STEMCELL Technologies, this ready-to-use buffer is formulated for manual EasySep™ cell separation protocols. It supports consistent performance in immunomagnetic cell separation workflows, including those carried out with RoboSep™ automated systems.

The standard composition is 2% fetal bovine serum (FBS) in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) without Ca++ and Mg++, supplemented with 1 mM EDTA. EDTA chelates divalent cations to minimise unwanted cell-to-cell and cell-to-particle adhesion, contributing to cleaner separations. FBS reduces cell aggregation and clumping, limits nonspecific binding to plasticware, and supplies nutrients and growth factors that help maintain cell quality during handling.

Designed for use in research workflows, the buffer is also classified as a cell culture buffer within the manufacturer's product range.
