ALDEFLUOR Assay Buffer, 55mL

Developed by STEMCELL Technologies as part of the ALDEFLUOR system, this 55 mL bottle of assay buffer provides the controlled environment required to label living cells according to their intracellular aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) activity. When combined with the BODIPY-aminoacetaldehyde substrate from the matched ALDEFLUOR kit, the buffer maintains the pH and ionic conditions cells need to convert BAAA into fluorescent BODIPY-aminoacetate, which accumulates inside ALDH-bright cells and is detected by flow cytometry. Researchers prepare single-cell suspensions from bone marrow, peripheral blood, cord blood, or dissociated tumor tissue in the buffer before analysis, gating ALDH-positive populations that mark hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells or candidate cancer stem cell subsets.
