Affinity-purified and supplied by Antibodies.com as a 1 mg liquid preparation, this high-purity tumor marker antigen targets Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) at >95% purity. The well-characterized glycoprotein is routinely used in cancer biomarker research, where it functions as an immunogen, a coating antigen in immunoassay development, and a calibrator or positive control when standardizing CEA quantitation workflows.

CEA is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily that mediates homophilic cell-cell adhesion. Normal expression is restricted largely to fetal gastrointestinal epithelium, with minimal presence in healthy adult tissue. Elevated serum concentrations are clinically associated with colorectal adenocarcinoma and a range of other epithelial malignancies, which is why the antigen features prominently in oncology research, antibody validation panels, and immunohistochemistry optimization studies.

Shipped in a ready-to-use liquid format, the preparation is well suited to dilution into assay buffer for plate coating, spike-and-recovery experiments, and benchmarking of new anti-CEA antibody clones across multiple research applications.
