Buffer AW2 (concentrate, 324 ml)

A 324 ml concentrate of wash buffer from QIAGEN, used during DNA purification with the QIAamp DNA Blood Midi and Maxi Kits. According to the manufacturer, Buffer AW2 is required when QIAamp Midi or Maxi spin columns are processed on vacuum manifolds, supporting the silica-membrane-based purification of genomic, mitochondrial or viral DNA from whole blood and other body fluids. The buffer is applied during the wash steps of the procedure, which remove PCR inhibitors such as divalent cations and proteins and leave pure nucleic acid ready for elution and downstream applications such as PCR, Southern blotting or RFLP analysis.
