Description
A QIAGEN washing buffer designed for silica-membrane spin-column nucleic acid purification procedures, Buffer AW1 removes proteins and other contaminants while preserving nucleic acids bound to the membrane.
According to the manufacturer's supplementary protocol for purifying genomic DNA and total RNA from human whole blood using the QIAamp RNA Blood Mini Kit, Buffer AW1 must be purchased separately. The procedure directs the user to apply 700 µl of Buffer AW1 to the QIAamp spin column and centrifuge for 15 seconds at ≥8000 x g.
The buffer is intended for molecular biology applications and is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.
