Purified human Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) antigen supplied as a 1 mg liquid preparation for use as an immunogen, coating reagent, or calibration standard in immunoassay development. AFP is a 70 kDa oncofetal glycoprotein synthesized predominantly by the fetal liver and yolk sac, with re-expression in hepatocellular carcinoma, germ cell tumors, and certain hepatic disorders, making it a clinically relevant tumor marker.

The antigen is prepared at greater than 40% purity, suitable for antibody production, affinity studies, immunoprecipitation workflows, and western blot standards. Researchers can use the preparation as a plate-coating reagent, in immunohistochemistry control experiments, and as a reference material when characterizing anti-AFP antibodies. Provided by Antibodies.com as a ready-to-use liquid format, the antigen integrates directly into existing protocols without reconstitution for most dilution-based applications.

Handling notes: aliquot upon first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles, store frozen at -20 degrees C, and protect from light to preserve antigen integrity. For research use only, in vitro applications.
