A recombinant human IL-4 protein offered by Antibodies.com is supplied as a sterile filtered white lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder, produced as a protein fragment expressed in Pichia pastoris (yeast).

According to the manufacturer's specification, the preparation is lyophilized from 20 mM phosphate buffered saline at pH 6 and is carrier free, with purity greater than 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE. The product is validated for SDS-PAGE analysis, and the lyophilized powder is shipped at ambient temperature.

For storage, the lyophilized material can be held at 25 °C for short term (three weeks) or desiccated below -18 °C for longer periods. Once reconstituted with 18 MΩ-cm water to no less than 0.1 mg/ml, the protein may be further diluted into other aqueous solutions and stored at 4 °C for short-term use (2–7 days) or below -18 °C for longer storage, with freeze/thaw cycles to be avoided.
