The assay uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, with an antibody specific for TIE1 pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. Standards and samples are added to the wells and bound TIE1 is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-TIE1 Antibody followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. The reaction is visualised with TMB substrate and the absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader, with TIE1 concentration calculated against a standard curve.

The assay has a product range of 7.81-500 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <3.2 ng/ml, with a total run time of 4h 30m.
