Sheep MT ELISA Kit

An in vitro quantitative competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) developed for the determination of Melatonin in sheep samples, distributed by Antibodies.com [C0][S2]. The kit is specific for Melatonin, with no reported cross-reactivity with other analogs or variants [S2].

The assay is run on a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm [S2]. The intensity of the colour produced is inversely proportional to the Melatonin concentration in the sample, which is determined by comparison with a standard curve [S2]. The total assay time is approximately 2 hours (120 minutes), and the working product range is 7.813–500 pg/mL with a sensitivity of <4.688 pg/mL [S2].

Suitable sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids [S2][C0]. In validation testing reported by the manufacturer, mean recovery averaged 94% for serum, 95% for EDTA plasma, and 96% for heparin plasma across the samples tested [S2]. Kit components supplied include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilised standard, sample dilution buffer (20 mL), biotinylated detection antibody (60 µL), antibody dilution buffer (10 mL), HRP-Streptavidin conjugate (120 µL), SABC dilution buffer (10 mL), TMB substrate (10 mL), stop solution (10 mL), 25X wash buffer (30 mL), adhesive plate sealers, and a foil storage pouch, shipped at +4 °C [S2].
