Rat Von Hippel Lindau Tumor Suppressor ELISA Kit

An in vitro quantitative sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) supplied by Antibodies.com, designed for the measurement of rat Von Hippel Lindau/VHL in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated microplate format and employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, in which a specific capture antibody immobilises the target, followed by incubation with a Biotinylated Anti-Von Hippel Lindau/VHL Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate.

A TMB substrate solution is used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of Von Hippel Lindau/VHL captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to a standard curve.

Reported performance figures include an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.113 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours and 30 minutes. Manufacturer validation indicates recovery in serum of 80%–102% (average 91%), in EDTA plasma of 81%–100% (average 90%), and in heparin plasma of 80%–89% (average 84%). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
